Cisco2024 Shortlisted Nominee
Social Mobility Project Award

Cisco’s Pathways Programme, launched in 2014, addresses diversity gaps in the technology sector by offering inspiring opportunities to young people from underrepresented backgrounds. The initiative provides work experience for students aged 15-18, including a specific programme for females and non-binary individuals. It also supports students from years 7-9 through school partnerships and offers industry placements for T Level Qualification students. In its pursuit of social mobility, the programme has impacted over 5,600 students nationally, with notable achievements including a 55% increase in interest in tech careers and significant diversity in participation. Cisco’s commitment is reflected in their continuous improvements, including joining the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower initiative and expanding reach through virtual platforms. This award recognition will enhance the programme’s visibility, inspire further support, and help scale its impactful work.
