D&I Tech Initiative Award
Amazon Future Engineer UK is a childhood‑to‑career education programme designed to inspire and prepare young people from underserved and underrepresented communities for future‑focused careers. Since launching in 2019, the initiative has tackled systemic barriers by delivering free coding workshops, AI curriculum support, teacher training, university bursaries and mentoring, working with partners including Teach First, STEM Learning, Digit and Education & Employers. Its flagship Careers of the Future virtual tours have taken more than 80,000 students behind the scenes at Amazon to explore real‑world roles in robotics, engineering, cloud computing and AI. Through Class Chats and AI in Action events, Amazon volunteers demystify technology careers for students who may never have met someone working in tech. With thousands of teachers supported and almost one million pupils becoming AI‑ready, Amazon Future Engineer UK is closing the opportunity gap and building a more equitable digital future.
