The BBC Enigma Neurodiversity Network is nominated for the Outstanding Diversity Network category, recognising its profound impact on promoting neurodiversity within the BBC. Launched in March 2023, Enigma swiftly grew to over 800 members, spearheading initiatives that celebrate and support neurodivergent experiences. Key achievements include the creation of the ‘Neurodiversity Handbook,’ educational workshops, and impactful collaborations, such as with Disney Pixar and Cambridge University. The network’s commitment to intersectionality is evident in its partnerships with other staff networks and policy reforms, including improved recruitment processes and the inclusion of neurodivergent identities in the staff census. Enigma’s proactive advocacy for assistive technologies and senior leadership engagement underpins its role in fostering a more inclusive and innovative workplace. Its efforts are transforming organisational culture and empowering neurodivergent employees.
