Joy Hume is dedicated to building an inclusive workforce culture at Waltham Forest Council, where she has played a central role in supporting the organisation’s ongoing ambition to reflect the diverse community it serves. Passionate about equity and representation, Joy co-designed the Council’s three-year Inclusion Action Plan and now leads on its implementation,an initiative that has brought new purpose and momentum to her work. She is proud to work for a local authority committed to being not just an employer of choice, but one where all staff feel valued, supported, and able to thrive. For Joy, inclusion is not just strategy – it is about people, progress, and possibility. She takes pride in the steps already taken while remaining focused on the work ahead, believing wholeheartedly in the power of collective effort to create lasting change.
