INCLUSIVE CULTURE INITIATIVE AWARD
Liverpool Women’s NHS Foundation Trust is leading the way in embedding inclusion and anti-racism as a strategic priority in healthcare. As one of the first NHS Trusts to establish a dedicated Anti-Racism Hub (ARH), we have created a model that is structural, evidence-informed, and lived experience-led. The Hub addresses systemic inequities in staff experience and patient care, with over 500 clinicians trained in trauma-informed, culturally competent practice to improve outcomes, particularly in maternity and neonatal services for Black and Brown women. Initiatives such as translated appointment letters, inclusive recruitment, and psychologically safe resolution frameworks have reduced barriers, improved trust, and strengthened representation. Working with partners including the Anthony Walker Foundation, The Brain Charity, and local LGBT organisations, we ensure inclusion spans race, gender, sexuality, and neurodiversity. At Liverpool Women’s, equity is not an initiative, it’s a principle embedded in everything we do.
