DIVERSITY TEAMS AWARD


The Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Team for Munich Re’s EU & Latin America region, led by Catalina Hernandez (Head of DEI), supported by Shabrina Khan (Deputy Head of DEI) and Armando Soto (DEI Advisor), combines professional expertise with diverse lived experiences to drive cultural transformation. Established in 2022, the team launched a regional DEI strategy (2023–2025) built on inclusive recruitment, equitable career sponsorship, and continuous learning. They’ve embedded DEI across six business units and eight countries, creating strong governance through a DEI Council of 55 members and introducing the Inclusive Mindset Framework, now embraced by two-thirds of employees. Initiatives such as the “Count Me In” self-ID campaign, inclusive recruitment guides, and identity-based learning events have measurably increased belonging and representation. This small but impactful team ensures that inclusion is embedded in everyday practice across Munich Re.
