Jodie Williams is a trailblazing Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) leader, widely respected for her powerful, cross-sector impact and unwavering commitment to creating equitable, inclusive and accessible environments. With over 15 years of experience, Jodie has successfully driven long-term, transformative change across industries including TV and radio, engineering and utilities, transport, the automotive retail sector, and now publishing.
As the pioneering Head of Diversity and Inclusion in the automotive retail industry, Jodie broke new ground-leading one of the sector’s largest development and culture change programmes. Her strategic leadership significantly increased awareness, understanding and representation, embedding EDI into the heart of business operations. She also co-chaired the industry’s Ethnicity Task Force and contributed to key sector research, creating scalable models for sustainable, inclusive change.
Jodie is particularly passionate about racial equity and intersectionality. In 2020, she curated the powerful online exhibition “A Definition of White Privilege”, which later became a published book. This work has become a vital educational resource, helping individuals and organisations understand the realities of privilege and systemic racism, and providing a foundation for meaningful dialogue and change.
Beyond her professional roles, Jodie is a dynamic speaker, facilitator and advocate – delivering anti-racist workshops and talks across a wide range of settings including universities, colleges, the National Probation Service, judiciary and policing services, consultancies, healthcare organisations and more. Her ability to connect with diverse audiences and turn complex social issues into practical action has made her a trusted and sought-after voice in the EDI space.
Jodie has also designed and delivered a range of high-impact talent and leadership development programmes across sectors-initiatives that have significantly improved representation and created lasting change in organisational culture and career progression pathways.
She currently sits on the Board of Harrogate Skills for Living, a local charity that provides care, supported housing and training for adults with learning disabilities and autism. Jodie’s involvement reflects her deep commitment to ensuring inclusion reaches every part of society.
Jodie Williams is more than an EDI professional- she is a changemaker, educator and advocate whose work continues to reshape workplaces and empower individuals. Driven by authenticity, compassion and a fierce commitment to equity, she is building a more inclusive future – one bold step at a time.
Now working in the publishing industry, Jodie is bringing her trademark energy and expertise to a new arena-driving initiatives that elevate under-represented voices and embed inclusive practice across the sector. As a hobby, Jodie also curates and hosts book club events that celebrate diverse authors and stories, combining her lifelong love of reading with her passion for representation.
