Liz Prince is a trailblazing force in the UK video games industry, with a career spanning over 30 years in recruitment and 20 years specifically focused on the games sector. As the Business Manager at Amiqus – a multi award-winning specialist recruitment agency – and the founder of two influential diversity initiatives, G Into Gaming and Empower Up, Liz has devoted her career in games to transforming the industry into a more diverse, inclusive, and equitable space.

Beginning her journey in tech recruitment in 1994, Liz moved into the games industry in 2005. Her transition marked the beginning of a passionate mission: to ensure that the sector not only attracts diverse talent but also nurtures under-represented voices. Through her leadership at Amiqus, she has consistently advocated for inclusive hiring practices and championed meaningful change across studios of all sizes.

In 2018, Liz founded Putting the G Into Gaming, a pro bono initiative aimed at addressing gender imbalance and broader EDI challenges within the games industry. The campaign has opened up countless opportunities for dialogue, support, and practical improvement, particularly around encouraging women and girls to consider a career in games.

Building on the success of this initiative, Liz launched Empower Up in partnership with games trade association Ukie’s RaiseTheGame programme in 2023. This all-encompassing EDI platform provides games studios with a step-by-step toolkit to help them make real progress on inclusion. With resources added weekly, the platform offers practical, tailored guidance for studios at every stage of their diversity journey.

Liz’s advocacy extends far beyond programme design. She is an Ambassador for Women in Games, a regular speaker at conferences across Europe, a columnist for games trade publication MCV/DEVELOP, and has been an active member of Ukie’s EDI committee. She also supports events such as the industry’s Best Places To Work Awards and Women in Games Awards – demonstrating her commitment to not only advocating for change but recognising and celebrating those leading it.

Beyond her industry impact, Liz is also an Ambassador for SpecialEffect, a charity that enhances the lives of people with disabilities through video games and technology.

Respected by peers, trusted by colleagues, and admired across the industry, Liz is known not just for what she says but what she does. She mentors emerging leaders, advises studios, creates platforms for progress, and challenges complacency wherever she sees it.

Here’s just a few examples of what those who work in the video games industry have said about Liz:

“She doesn’t just talk about what needs to change, she takes practical and meaningful strides in the direction of progress. She is a role model, inspiration and mentor to so many; also a trusted ally and confidante to whom people can turn to when they need to find a way forward.”

“Liz is a role model for the games industry… empowering her team at Amiqus to always think with inclusion and kindness first to make both candidates and companies feel important during recruitment.”

“Liz puts her heart and soul into championing better Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging within the games industry. She speaks bravely and from the heart, championing positive change, not just for women but for all. She is a positive force to be recognised and deserves to have her efforts and successes within Diversity celebrated.”
