Manchester Airports Group’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Team delivers our Every Journey Matters (EDI) strategy across Manchester Airport, London Stansted Airport and East Midlands Airport, supporting over 7,750+ colleagues.
Over the last year, the team has evolved EDI at MAG towards accountability, measurable organisational impact and industry leadership. Working across office and operational environments, the team partners with leaders, colleagues and six colleague communities to create a culture where everyone can thrive.
Key achievements include:
-Developing and delivering MAG’s Every Journey Matters EDI Strategy – the first externally-facing EDI Strategy in our industry.
-Increasing colleague community membership by 44.86%, welcoming 824 new members this year.
-Transforming colleague communities from employee networks into strategic business partners, influencing policy, culture and decision-making.
-Launching Kind Cafés (pop-up stalls) during National Inclusion Week, with 98% of operational colleagues reporting increased feelings of inclusion and awareness of support available at MAG.
-Giving frontline and operational colleagues a direct voice in shaping EDI priorities and strategy.
-Launching the Colleague Community Operational Leads pilot to strengthen engagement with operational teams.
-Accelerating neuroinclusion through the introduction of the Neurodiversity Hub, providing tailored learning and resources for colleagues and managers.
-Delivering neurodiversity workshops that increased confidence around neurodiversity by +40%. Improving neurodiversity knowledge scores from 62% to 80% following learning interventions.
-Launching the Oasis Room at Manchester Airport, creating a dedicated wellbeing space serving over 2,000+ operational colleagues.
-Embedding inclusion more deeply into recruitment, talent attraction, colleague listening and organisational processes.
-Strengthening MAG’s use of diversity data, intersectional analysis and impact assessments to support evidence-based decision-making.
-Launching Aviation 4 All, the UK’s first cross-industry aviation EDI event, with 100% of attendees agreeing it was a positive step forward for inclusion in aviation.
-Contributing to the development of EDI policy and standards through the Aviation Skills and Industry Board (ASIB).
-Positioning MAG as an active contributor to industry-wide inclusion discussions and best practice.
