Nimbus is a UK-based social enterprise founded and led by disabled people, with a mission to revolutionise how society understands and responds to accessibility. We do this through innovative technology, consultancy, and lived-experience expertise that supports organisations to be more inclusive, while empowering disabled individuals to have greater choice, control, and confidence when navigating the world.
At the heart of Nimbus is the Queen’s Award for Enterprise (Innovation) winning Access Card – a globally recognised tool that translates a disabled person’s access requirements into a simple system of icons. Backed by bespoke software (NOS), the Access Card enables venues, service providers, and ticketing platforms to instantly and securely understand and meet a disabled customer’s needs. This cuts through red tape and anxiety, creating a smoother experience for both the user and the provider.
Our IP-protected technology enables the most comprehensive digital accessibility solution available, fostering better communication between disabled people and service providers.
Crucially, this is not tech designed for marginalised groups, but with and by them. We combine cutting-edge tech with real-world inclusion, proving that accessibility can be smart, scalable, and sustainable – not just legally compliant, but human-centred and commercially viable. Our approach is reshaping attitudes across sectors, helping businesses understand that inclusion is not only the right thing to do but also makes sound business sense.
Nimbus also acts as a disability-led voice in strategic accessibility partnerships across the UK, influencing policy, venue design, digital access, and customer service. We regularly engage with our cardholders and wider disabled communities through surveys, forums, and feedback tools to ensure our services remain relevant, empowering, and effective.
We are transparent in our operations and impact, publishing user stories, accessibility case studies, and evaluation data that show how our work transforms everyday life for disabled people.
