I hold a BSc (Hons) in Mathematics & Management Studies from Queen Mary, University of London. I Started in foreign currency trading at Thomas Cook, before joining PRS for Music, where I spent 22 years of my career to date. My role was Initially focused on mechanical rights licensing with MCPS for 15 years after this I transitioned into performing rights management, membership, and international licensing leadership. I was appointed as the Music Publishers Association (MPA) CEO succeeding Jane Dyball, on 1 February 2019. My appointment was lauded by industry leaders such as Robert Ashcroft (the then CEO of PRS) and MPA Chair, Jackie Alway OBE.
As CEO, I lead the entire MPA Group of companies, including:

• MCPS (Mechanical-Copyright Protection Society): Collects/distributes mechanical royalties for songwriters, composers and publishers of which there are 37,000 members; I am also a Director on the MCPS board.
• PMLL (Printed Music Licensing Ltd): Manages sheet-music licensing schemes on behalf of print and music publishers on behalf of songwriters, composers and lyricists; I also serve as a Board Director.

I am known for strong commercial insight, IP licensing prowess, and highly effective negotiations. Spearheading strategic growth, key partnerships, and transformation initiatives at PRS and now at MPA.

• AI & IP Rights: Led MPA’s public advocacy on AI-related copyright, urging clear licensing frameworks, fair value for human creators, transparency and government-led regulations.
• Copyright Protection: Played a key role in overturning proposed text/data-mining exceptions that threatened creators and rights owners.
• Diversity & Inclusion: Actively supporting MPA’s Head of DEI, CSR and Wellbeing and her team, acting as DEI sponsor and encouraging employee engagement. I proudly mentor two Nxt-Gen scholars.
• Industry Engagement: Frequently represent MPA at major events—recently participated in The Ivors Academy Summit and led MPA AI seminars.

I believe that I would be a strong candidate for a CEO award because I have delivered tangible business growth, protected the industry in times of disruption, and led with integrity, empathy and vision. I am a proud and strong champion for diversity and social impact, and I am shaping the future of music publishing, especially in navigating AI related opportunities and challenges.
