The Pennine Care NHS Foundation (PCFT) Neurodiversity Staff Network has been active for over two years and has grown from a small group of colleagues into a thriving community of more than 50 members. With over 4000 staff working in PCFT the network provides a dedicated space for neurodivergent staff, with or without a formal diagnosis, and colleagues who want to better understand and support neurodiversity in the workplace.
Key achievements include delivering our first Neurodiversity Celebration Week in 2026 across our organisation, which involved five sessions attended by 51 colleagues. Sessions were delivered by network members, and one in partnership with our occupational health and wellbeing provider. Since Neurodiversity Celebration Week, membership has increased by a further 11 members, demonstrating the growing reach and impact of the network.
We have established a body-doubling support channel.
We provide advice on workplace adjustments, and creating a supportive peer community
We have recently been successful in an NHS charities bid for funding to support neurodivergent employees. This funding is being used to create a workplace coaching offer for neurodivergent employees, a managers support session for their respective line managers and the creating of a neurodiversity toolkit.
