Playground Games is a BAFTA-winning AAA game development studio, rooted in creativity and a commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion. Founded in 2010 in Leamington Spa, we have grown to a team of over 500 people from 47 nationalities. We are the proud creators of the Forza Horizon series, a franchise praised for its innovation and accessibility and we are excited to be developing Fable, a new beginning for the legendary franchise.
At PG, we don’t just build extraordinary games; we build a community where everyone belongs. Our employee-led initiatives, deep partnerships with grassroots organisations, and unwavering focus on lived experiences make us more than a workplace – we are a home for pioneers who truly believe that diversity and inclusion fuels our creativity and drives our innovation connecting us closer to our players.
Founded in 2010, our journey began like many others in the gaming industry: ambitious but lacking in representation. As we grew, so too did our realisation that true innovation could only come from a truly inclusive environment. It was not enough to create award-winning games; we needed to create a workplace where every voice mattered and a team that represented the diversity of our players.
Our transformation started with the creation of Women@PG, our first Employee Resource Group (ERG), born out of a commitment to increase female representation and amplify underrepresented voices. Today, we proudly champion four dynamic ERGs – Women@PG,), Pride@PG, People of Colour@PG and MIND@PG (Mental Health, Inclusivity, Neurodiversity, and Disability – all fully funded, employee-led, and central to our studio’s amazing culture and commitment to wellbeing.
Through bold initiatives and lived-experience leadership, we embedded diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) at every level of our studio. We launched a real-time EDI dashboard, integrated DEI into recruitment and leadership training, redesigned our studio spaces for accessibility and inclusion, and established inclusive wellbeing benefits such as Neuropathway healthcare and Trans-inclusive cover.
Our ERGs drive tangible change internally by contributing to listening circles and brave spaces, provide awareness training sessions, shape our games’ accessibility and inclusion features, and collaborate with one another to provide an intersectional understanding that makes our culture stronger and richer. Our teams have designed accessibility features in Forza Horizon from prosthetic limb customisation to incorporating BSL sign language, ensuring players can see themselves reflected in the worlds we build and enjoy playing our games.

Externally, our reach extends beyond our studio. We co-founded Women of Xbox UK, sponsor Code First Girls degrees and Coventry University Black Internship Programme, sponsored Black Tech Fest, Out Making Games, MIND UK, Into Games Socio-economic IG50 Programme, Limit Break Mentoring and Safe In Our World enabling us to support and grow representation and wellbeing in the Games Industry and beyond.
Our efforts have been recognised with accolades including “Employee Network Group of the Year” at the ENEI Awards 2024, 7 x GI Biz Best Places to Work Winners, and finalists for the Disability Awards 2025 and WISE Awards 2025. We have also been nominated for the National Diversity Awards 2025.
Most importantly, we have seen real human impact: increasing our female representation from 8 women to over 100 women, a 90%+ inclusive culture score, and countless accounts from employees and players alike who feel truly represented and valued.
At Playground Games, we are building a future and an industry where everyone belongs, creating a legacy of equitable opportunities not just within our studio but within the Games Industry as a whole.
