I am a Diversity & Inclusion Manager at TransPennine Express, leading work to embed a more inclusive and psychologically safe culture across a safety-critical rail environment.
This initiative has been shaped by the courage and openness of neurodivergent colleagues who have shared their lived experiences, often for the first time, and by leaders who have listened and committed to meaningful change. My role has been to bring these voices together and translate them into a structured, practical approach that drives real impact across the organisation.
Through this work, I have led the development of a comprehensive neurodiversity programme spanning leadership engagement, manager capability, colleague networks and external partnerships. Importantly, this has created space for colleagues not only to be heard internally, but to represent TPE as speakers and panellists at the Neurodiversity in Rail conference, supporting wider industry change.
This is not about individual achievement. It is about collective progress -creating an environment where colleagues feel safe to be themselves and perform at their best, and where inclusion is embedded into how we operate, lead and deliver every day.
