Head of Diversity & Inclusion Award
Shelley is a dedicated advocate for diversity in the media industry, with over 20 years of experience. She joined News UK in 2018 and soon after established the company’s first network for Black and brown employees. Following the Black Lives Matter movement in 2020, Shelley was instrumental in driving diversity initiatives across the business. Now as Head of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, she leads efforts to attract, develop, and retain diverse talent. Her work has seen News UK introduce paid internships, apprenticeships, and numerous partnerships with community groups, all with a focus on underrepresented backgrounds. Shelley’s passion lies in ensuring that media reflects the diversity of society, working to make News UK’s content and workforce more inclusive. Her commitment has been a catalyst for change in the media industry.
