TaskHer, founded by Anna and co-founder Paul, emerged from Anna’s redundancy during maternity leave. Confronted by the gender imbalance in the trades industry, they created the TaskHer platform with backing from Bethnal Green Ventures. The platform provides tradeswomen with free bookings from clients seeking female professionals and ensures fair rates to help grow their businesses. Launched in 2022, TaskHer has facilitated over 1,900 bookings and onboarded more than 50 tradeswomen in London, focusing on electricians, plumbers, and heating engineers. Recent achievements include winning the Impact Shakers European Startup Award for Gender Equality and being a finalist in multiple startup awards. TaskHer is expanding its services and collaborating with schools and councils to promote trades careers to young women, challenging traditional career stereotypes.
