At Windward Energy, growth is about belonging as much as business. From just six colleagues in 2020 to over 150 by mid-2025, the renewable energy and resilient networks developer has embedded diversity, equity and inclusion as a strategic pillar of its culture. Its DE&I Working Group, formed in 2023 and reporting to the Board, ensures accountability and action at every level. The nine-member team represents the breadth of the organisation, driving policies on gender diversity, anti-bullying, and inclusive onboarding while amplifying mental health and cultural awareness. Achievements include a 50/50 gender split across the group, women in senior leadership, outreach to 7,000+ pupils, and visible Pride participation in Cardiff and Edinburgh. Recognised by Great Place To Work UK in 2023 and now 2025, Windward Energy is building a culture where colleagues feel valued, supported, and inspired to thrive together.
