D&I Consultancy Award
Access Cornwall CIC is a disabled‑led accessibility consultancy founded by Viki Carpenter, whose lived experience as a neurodivergent woman and young carer shaped a lifelong commitment to removing barriers. The organisation was created to ensure fewer people face the exclusion Viki and her mother experienced — a mission that now drives one of the South West’s most credible and impactful accessibility organisations. Since its founding in 2020, Access Cornwall has supported 223 organisations across the region, delivered landmark programmes such as Access Truro, and reached over 200,000 people seeking accessible, confidence‑building information. Its team of 32 volunteers and six staff all bring lived experience of disability or neurodivergence, ensuring authenticity and insight in every audit, guide and strategic partnership. With influence spanning councils, cultural institutions, transport, education and national forums, Access Cornwall is transforming accessibility across Cornwall — one door, one business, one community at a time.
