Bupa Race & Ethnicity Network

Bupa2026 Shortlisted nominee
Outstanding Diversity Network Award

Bupa’s Race and Ethnicity Community is a rapidly growing, lived‑experience‑driven network dedicated to creating a workplace where colleagues feel seen, heard and able to succeed. Co‑chaired by Melvin Mark‑Searles and Seema Chonk, the community has grown from 31 founding members to more than 580 colleagues and allies, becoming a trusted space for connection, cultural understanding and honest conversation. Through monthly community calls, heritage celebrations, wellbeing discussions and practical changes such as introducing halal food options, the network has strengthened belonging and visibility across Bupa. Its first Race and Ethnicity Conference achieved a 100 percent NPS, inspiring colleagues through powerful leadership stories and external speakers. By amplifying lived experience, challenging perceptions and empowering colleagues to use their voice, the community is reshaping culture at Bupa and ensuring everyone can thrive with confidence and authenticity.
