EMPOWER and ManKind are LNER networks working together to build a safer, fairer and more inclusive rail industry. EMPOWER champions women’s voices through practical, culture-shifting initiatives, including a Menopause Toolkit, Menopause Action Plan, forthcoming Menstruation Policy, Women’s Awards and an Empowered Women’s Mentoring Programme. ManKind creates space for men to connect, discuss wellbeing, challenge stereotypes and become active allies in advancing gender equity. Together, the networks combine lived experience, grassroots engagement and senior leadership support to influence policy, strengthen confidence and improve workplace culture. They lead conversations on issues including Violence Against Women and Girls, collaborate with partners such as Network Rail and help other rail companies develop inclusive networks. By supporting colleagues of all genders, amplifying underrepresented voices and encouraging shared responsibility for change, EMPOWER and ManKind are reshaping a male-dominated industry so everyone can belong, progress and thrive.
