Using insights from our employee feedback ‘Your Voice’ survey and employee-led networks, Acacium Group’s diversity and inclusion leaders devised a strategy focusing on attracting and appointing diverse talent, representing our communities, removing career progression barriers for diverse groups and ensuring gender and racial pay equity.
Some of the initiatives being delivered include;
Talent Attraction
• A ‘Returnship’ programme was launched to help parents find a route back into employment through flexible working, on-the-job training and the opportunity to complete a fully-funded industry-recognised qualification.
• Launched a partnership with Diversify, a talent attraction platform to reach a more diverse talent pool.
• A dedicated Early Careers team was established to lead our Apprenticeship Programmes to develop in-house talent to align company goals with personal ambitions.
• Partnered with UCL Global Business School for Health and the Young Women’s Trust
• Developed Employee Value Proposition and increased visibility of employer brand launching dedicated ‘Life at Acacium Group’ TikTok and Instagram channels.
Talent Development
• Formalised the learning pathways for different roles across the business: Leading self, Leading others, and Leading Growth, consisting of 60 self-service training modules.
• Launched our global Reverse Mentoring programme.
• World class leader programme launched to suit managers at all stages of their professional development to receive an accredited leadership qualification.
• Launched Career Conversations, Career Roadshows, a Fast Track internal application process.
People Shared Services
• Launched People Shared Service Centre intranet page as a central support hub, allowing employees to ‘self-serve’ a wide range of materials including how-to guides for people systems, FAQ’s, links to key documents and pages.
• Launched ‘Enboarder’, which creates a mobile-driven engagement experience and tracks which managers effectively support the process to ensure quality and consistency across the Group.
• Introduced user feedback through a ‘How did we do?’ form, which triggers when a ticket/email query has been resolved within query platform, Freshdesk.
Compensation and Benefit
• Launched and supported five employee networks: R.E.N, the race and ethnicity network; AGENDA, our gender advocacy group; UNITY, our LGBTQ+ network, UNIQUE, which promotes accessibility; and EmBody, the body image network.
• Allocated funds totalling £8.8 million were provided to employees with a cost-of-living subsidy, financial education, planning tools, and mental health support for those struggling with cost-of-living pressures.
• Wellness calendar of events: Accessed by more than 1500 colleagues in the last 18 months, employees participate in various wellness and wellbeing sessions, including mental and physical health, digital detoxing and confidence masterclasses.
• Trained more than 80 mental health first aiders across the Group.
Some of the key achievements delivered by this strategy include;
• Acacium Group was a recipient of the Princess Royal Training Awards with an additional
commendation for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, which recognised our significant commitment to DEI within our learning and development offering.
• In 2023, Women in Tech and Transformation (WiTT) hosted two in-person and over 15 online events, with a 98% satisfaction score from forum members. The forum’s 207% growth in members and 375% increase in active member participation demonstrates the value of this active and engaged community, which contributes to a dynamic culture within the wider Technology and Transformation team.
• Our gender pay gap analysis shows progress in pay equity within our organisation. The mean pay gap indicates that men are paid 8.77% more than women on average, a 2.53% decrease since the 2022-23 report. The median pay gap shows women are paid 6.43% more than men on average, an increase of 4.6% from last year, continuing a trend since 2018.
• Acacium Group secured Level 2 Disability Confident Committed Employer in 2024.
