Inclusive Culture Initiative
Thames Valley Police is a trailblazing force committed to building an inclusive culture and representative workforce that reflects and serves diverse communities. Through its Trust and Confidence Strategy, culture and inclusion is embedded via strong governance, accountability and strong leadership. As the first police force to establish an Independent Trust, Assurance and Confidence Board, TVP is recognised for driving cultural change through community cohesion, positive action, retention initiatives, wellbeing programmes, nine staff networks and buddy schemes. Its Leadership Academy develops inclusive policing leaders, strengthening trust, improving representation and supporting underrepresented groups. Inclusive decision making, improved diversity data, engagement and equitable recognition processes further advance progress. TVP’s commitment to disability inclusion, race and gender equity, and intersectional support demonstrates leadership in policing, creating a culture where trust, legitimacy, representation and inclusion are central to public service.
