Social Mobility Project Award
The Brokerage is a social mobility charity creating pathways into professional careers for young people from working‑class backgrounds who are shut out of the networks, contacts and informal routes that still dominate access to internships and early careers. Working with state‑educated young people, most from Black, Asian and minoritised communities and without family connections to professional sectors, The Brokerage provides skills development, employer insight, mentoring and work experience that would otherwise be out of reach. In a labour market where only one in ten internships are openly advertised and class gaps are widening, The Brokerage tackles compounded disadvantage and opens doors that privilege keeps closed. Its work ensures talent is recognised, not overlooked, and empowers young people to enter, progress and thrive in careers that match their ability, ambition and potential.
